When you feel disregulated why not try these Grounding skills

Grounding is all about just that, feeling the ground. You may have experienced in your life an out of body or perhaps just not feeling present. This is example of a time when utilizing grounding skills can bring you back to the present moment. Why would I want to do that, you may ask? Well perhaps your anxiety is living in the future, and your depression is living in the past. Why then would you want to be in the past or future, when living in the present is where we are now?

I have provided through therapist aid a few handouts on how to ground, with a quick example below. The trick is to practice these skills when you are not disregulated, which makes it available when you are.
